J's Chimes: Spice Up Your Facebook...

Got a little bored with your Facebook profile picture? How about making a continuous banner of your photos that runs onto into the status bar on your profile page? Experimented it a little when I stumbled upon Youtube clip by accident that gives a tutorial on how to make these... Below is a short clip in which you can view and learn how to make this...

However if you do not have the photoshop software to make this, there are many other ways to make this too. All you need is MS paint and that's about it. (I did it using MS paint so you don't actually need something so sophisticated for your artistic work...)

J's Chimes: Anime Facebook

Fiddling around in your facebook these days and realized that some of your friend's pictures are replaced by animation characters instead? That's because a new social media campaign known as Childhood Cartoon Faces hopes to raise awareness of violence against children by encouraging Facebook users to ditch traditional pictures in favor of the cartoon images. This campaign would end on the 6 Dec 2010 which is today. Hopefully you too get to replace your pictures for an anime version type in support of this campaign. And then again who says anime are childish? Now this may be a big step towards spreading the wonders of anime. At least you know who likes anime in your friend's lists in Facebook now...

J's Chimes: 3 Years Old And Running!

It really hasn't been easy just to maintain this website and keep blogging till now. All thanks to your support, J's Chimes would not have make it till now without you. Many thanks and hope that you could continue to visit us for more better updates and stuffs about anime!!!

J's Chimes: 11,000 Hits!

It might be a bit late though... but J's Chimes has reached a total of 11,000 hits now! The counter is ticking much slower than usual due to the fact that other sections had been omitted a few months back, but somehow or rather am pretty happy for the fact that there are still people visiting the site. Many thanks to those who still continue to support. There will be more interesting stuff coming up soon so stay tune...

J's Chimes: Travel To Japan

Air Asia finally have flights to Japan starting from December 2010 onwards to Haneda Airport. What's amazing is the price of RM99~ which is approximately SGD$42~ for a one-way trip. I've always wanted to go to Japan, however the air fare always seems to be one of the costliest among all besides accommodation. But the fact that ya can only get there from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia only... However, I still got reviews from friends stating that it is wiser to take a better economy class flight like SIA to Japan instead because the trip is very long and would not be feasible on a budgeted airline. Anyway you can find out more about the flight here at AirAsia.com.

J's Chimes: Left 3 Dead

Love the Left 4 Dead series? Seems like valve has came up with the comic book for it to link up both part 1 and part 2 of the series together. Titled 'The Sacrifice', the story will focus on the previous characters of Left 4 Dead, their story and how they got to 'The Passing' after the events in Blood Harvest. You'd also get to know how Bill sacrifice his life to save his teammates. The comic can be viewed by clicking here. Part 2 will be out tomorrow and will focus on Zoey's other story...

J's Chimes: Reving Up For AFA X

A press event and discussion about the upcoming AFA X was held yesterday as per mentioned in DannyChoo.com. Yup, there will be more idols coming to perform for this upcoming event and plenty of stuff to see too... But perhaps the most shocking thing you would wanna know would be that the entrance tickets are raised to SGD$15 per day and not for 2. So you'd theoretically need to pay SGD$30 for both days of entertainment with both stage and main access. Well, as the event only takes place once every year, I guess sych an issue is uncalled for... In any case, visit the main website here for more details.

J's Chimes: 2D Pictures Comes Alive

Stumbled on this amazing blog where 2D drawings on paper came to live in 3D. You can view some of the photos by clicking here. What's amazing about this is that the artist is able to blend in the artworks into the environment. Seriously an amazing feat with praises of creativity and skill. Hmm... perhaps I should try doing that too...

J's Chimes: All Your Base Are Belong To Us...

After much consideration, J's Chimes will be closing down the other sections as they will no longer be updated anytime soon. Thus it would be best to fully concentrate on the main website instead. However, we will be considering adding new sections in the Archive Tags and revamping the entire website once again. So whatever the case, update your bookmarks to the main page to stay tune to J's Chimes for the days ahead...

J's Chimes: 100,000 Hits!

Surprisingly, J's Chimes has reached the 100k hit mark after 3 long years of blogging... Once again, we would like to sincerely thank you for making all this happen. It's really not easy sustaining something like that for so long where many of my other blogger friends has given up and doing something different. Your support is what keeps J's Chimes going and would hope that you would continue to visit so that we are motivated to blog new stuffs for your viewing pleasure...

J's Chimes: OMG! (One Manga is Gone!)

With the war on Scanlations, there's bound to be causalities involved and the very first goes to the popular free manga website known as Onemanga. As as now companies are taking seriously on licensing laws and such, websites are now closing down one at a time and who knows which the the next victim coming up. Other than that, popular series like Bleach and Naruto are now protected by copyright infringement laws so none can now be distributed for fans to continue reading the exciting parts coming soon... Whether it is a good thing or not no one is ever sure at the moment and so maybe it's back to the bookshops again...? Pertaining to this, J's Chimes will also be closing down the manga link sections as those links are already dead because of such turn of events. Anyway, let's just see what happens next...

J's Chimes: 90,000 Hits!

After many posts, J's Chimes has reach a total of 90,000 hits. Thank you for visiting this blog, your hits are what that's driving me to keep blogging about animations and stuff in Singapore and Japan. In any case, there are more posts to come so stay tune...

J's Chimes: 80k Hits!

Once again, it's a J's Chimes tradition to thank you all for your support. Another 10k hits in just a month is truly an amazing feat to me and the blog. Please continue to visit us for more updates and stuff about anime and culture in Singapore. We hope that you could spread the word about this blog so as to gather more people to talk about our hobbies...

J's Chimes: Blog Theme History

J's Chimes have evolved over the years but its saddening that I've lost the theme of my website from long ago... Anyway here's my previous Blue skies theme for my blog. This marks the dramatic change for my blog including the hits and posts I've written. This theme clearly represents what am feeling that time because it was the December Holidays and am really feel to revamp the website.

Tried a Christmas Theme that very same year and it turns out much redder than expected. Whatever the case, it's really striking and blends well with the occasion am celebrating. However, Christmas does only last a day so had to quickly change to a new theme after a few days time.

A fresh new start begins with greenery as the theme for the New Year. However some issues appear because of the switch of my new computer as all graphics are in 800 x 600 back then. Seriously at this period of time, J's Chimes has revamped many times in order to appear new to visitors out there. And my call was answered with a current theme I am using as of now...

The current J's Chimes presents a much more classy and authentic look, with support of resolutions above 800 x 600. It is now permanently used as the main theme for my blog in this year. Am currently still considering making a new theme back due to constraints and the many event coming up this year, didn't had the luxury to. However, am still gathering inspirations to creating a new one though lol... Anyway, there you have it. Hopefully am able to find back the old theme for your viewing...

J's Chimes: 60,000 Hits!

J's Chimes has gradually taken up pace once again all thanks to your support. Thinking back, this ideal first started when I created a Yahoo Group for rants about anime back in 2006 which didn't really took off until 07/11/07. Had designed a blog and it seriously took many efforts to keep it going till now. If you find something of your passion, you'd do it well and that's how got me on to this day. Once again thank you and keep coming back for more contents in future...

J's Chimes: Happy Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is just a day away and many would be preparing for the coming festival, but somehow or rather it coincides with the dreaded Valentine's Day which are probably hated by all singles out there. Picture taken from thebanzaieffect.com, Miku has a little lecture on what the Chinese New Year is about... Somehow. In any case, J's Chimes wishes all a Happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!

J's Chimes: Drawing H & Ecchi

Japanese Artists and their artwork have impressed and awed me in many ways unexplained. When it comes to drawing girls, they're so good that you can feel the emotions coming from just a single picture. At times I do wonder how they could draw so perfectly and beautifully... (Even the contours or parts are drawn so detailed...) And of course there are the H and Ecchi artworks too. Check out some beautiful artworks here at moe imouto, some of the places where I get my pictures from.
